La BBC ha tenido que emitir un comunicado de disculpas por lo ocurrido en el ‘post-partido’ entre el Liverpool y el Wolverhampton Wanderers de la tercera ronda de la FA Cup. No fue un insulto de un comentarista, un análisis demasiado soez o una bronca en directo: fueron los gemidos sexuales que se colaron en plena retransmisión . Gary Lineker y Alan Shearer , dos exfutbolistas, estaban comentando lo ocurrido en el Molineux Stadium cuando empezaron a oír de manera muy clara las voces de una mujer gimiendo. El primero intentó salir del paso con cierto sentido del humor: «Creo que alguien está enviando algo al teléfono de alguien». La situación se resolvió entre risas, conscientes de que les estaban gastando una broma. La cadena británica se lo ha tomado más en serio. En un comunicado, un portavoz ha pedido «disculpas a los espectadores ofendidos durante la transmisión en vivo del fútbol esta noche» y ha asegurado que han emprendido una investigación, sobre todo después de descubrir lo que había ocurrido. Fue el propio Lineker quien compartió en twitter la foto que desveló el misterio: les habían pegado un viejo móvil a una de las paredes contiguas del estudio, a donde habían enviado esos audios que se colaron. January 17, 2023 El pasado mes de octubre fue condenado por ataque al saltar a un campo para embestir al jugador de criquet Jonny Bairstow. Fue castigado con una condena suspendida de prisión de ocho semanas durante los próximos dos años, tiempo en el que tampoco podrá asistir a ningún recinto deportivo en Inglaterra y Gales.
